On Monday, April 19, 2021, former Minnesota Police Officer Derek Michael Chauvin was convicted of three charges in connection with his heinous murder of George Perry Floyd. While these guilty verdicts certainly represent a positive turning point in the centuries’ long moral arc of United States history that should be celebrated, we would be remiss as a people, and as a country, not to acknowledge the hard work left before us in continuing to bend that moral arc toward true justice. To that end, the GSBA has put together a power-panel of practitioners, social justice warriors, civil rights advocates, and legal minds for a town-hall style discussion on next steps in criminal justice reform – both in New Jersey and beyond.
